Living through an historic era...

Barak Obama took the World’s most powerful job in a blaze of flash lights, crowds and expectation. Unfortunately as with many an excited groom or bride, he fluffed his lines. Now for a wedding one can stop, start and retrace. For President the excitement and the occasion took over and the right words in the wrong order caused the oath to be retaken the next day in a little less public setting.

Now given the propensity for lawyers to make left right and right wrong, how long before some smart lawyer or lobby group decides to challenge anything signed or authorised in between the first fluffed swearing and the second successful one?

Was he actually President during that first day?

Now personally, I think Obama will be an astute President and be as good as the hype. But will he be allowed to? What about the people who don’t want to see him succeed? And the most unthinkable, what if a lunatic assassinates him?

Now looking at what lies ahead, the outcome will be fascinating. We are truly living through an historic era. Following close behind what one American bumper sticker described as Bush’s finish as the end of an error!

Although past events may hamper. Last weeks further financial shocks have probably left all in bewilderment. When will the bottom come? How will the balance sheet of the UK survive more and more giveaways? Spain’s credit rating has dropped from AAA to AA+.

I recently heard a new theory that instead of giving money to the banks to keep them afloat, pay off everyone’s mortgage!
