With the miles of newsprint and hours of airwaves congested with MPs and their expenses, I am not sure I need add anything here, except to say how can they command respect from here? If a director of a Company behaved like this they would be in prison! Perhaps that’s why Parliament kept the prisons overcrowded so there wouldn’t be room for themselves!
Anyway a strange little story has caught my eye. Apparently a deal has been agreed between Real Madrid, Manchester United and Ronaldo. Allegedly he is to be paid a staggering £1m a month. A figure that is just mind blowing!
Now the strange thing is the report stated that it was a private deal and if it leaked before 31 May the deal can be cancelled. A cursory glance to the top of the page will reveal it is before 31 May and I first read it on 13 May!
What it highlights is how and why do leaks happen? Obviously in any situation there will be those wanting to expose and those wanting to shield. But the general Machiavellian nature of these stories and how they emanate is always surprising.
Some things that are clearly in the public interest are closeted away and only come out after a long hard fight and some things that should really be respected and stay off the radar.
Of course we will probably never know the workings of those that take a differing stance and it is impossible to get everyone to agree on anything.
Although hats off to our politicians they do seem to have united the opinions of the public & press against them!
