If you had tooth ache would you have your head amputated? If there’s a crop of rotten apples in a barrel, you throw them out and start again, not stop storing apples in barrels!
Never underestimate the ability for any problem identified to be wrongly diagnosed and the wrong solution applied.
There is debate starting that the whole debacle of the MP expense abuses needs to be addressed with a radical overhaul of Parliament.
No it doesn’t! The structure of Parliament is not the problem. The basis of running the Country is not at fault. It is the rotten greedy money grabbing immoral mindless selfish people who thought going into politics was about serving themselves more than the people.
Whatever system is in place, whatever changes are made it is the individuals involved whose abuse will cause disgrace and humiliation. The systems are never the problem (well rarely) it will always be the people.
And this is the real worry about where we are heading. For anyone to even think that ripping up Centuries of history is a sensible debate to have is seriously worrying.
We see areas all over society that will look out for any excuse or blame anything other than themselves for whatever they do or have done.
Fat? Must be a gland problem - no you probably eat too much!
Smelly breath? Must be genetic – no clean your teeth!
Money grabbing MP’s? Must be Parliament & the system – no sack the corrupt selfish MP’s immediately, call a General Election and let’s get some public servants in!
