Hard Pressed NHS

Sometimes something’s touch you and put everything else into the perspective with which they should always be held.

One of my team was diagnosed with breast cancer and she was told she just needed radiation. She has just found out that in fact she will need chemotherapy and naturally is concerned about all that goes with that. Above all though she has been well looked after and is getting guidance and treatment.

With the bashing the NHS got because the Obama wants to give a national medical service surely time has come that we look after what we have and stop the drain it’s precious resources and our tax pound that runs it.

When I read how much the NHS has had to fork out on negligence claims and damages then surely somewhere down the line we are missing the point. Aligned with the Patients Association calls that basic care is lacking in hospitals which will only add more cost and burden at a time when the money could be actually spent on delivering service.

I never cease to be amazed how easy people find it to criticise and call for reports and investigations – where do they think the money comes from to fund this?

Sure we need checks and balances but generally most people go to work to do their best and this includes our hard pressed NHS.  So how about we find a way to help them and stop the attacks that merely create investigations to add to the burden of cost.
