On what planet did Geoff Hoon and Patricia Hewitt think sending a letter to all Labour MP’s and launching a challenge on Gordon Brown was sensible? Surely it is basic tactics that you line up your allies and then move?
It would be like Johnny Wilkinson launching an attack on the opposition and the other 14 players standing on the goal line and watching.
He never struck as the sharpest tool in the box when he was a cabinet minister but his gormless stance in front of the cameras while his colleagues abused him was farcical!
Now we are in for one of those years where all political parties will be posturing and point scoring from now until whenever the election is. We will see little real activity from the Government. There will then be the normal period following the election of not much happening in practice – particularly if the Tories get in as either they are hiding their policies or they will have to unroll them fast.
All the while our economy needs guiding and steering. All the while the day to day lives and business trundle on.
All the while we the poor tax payer will be holding the dirty end of the stick and paying for the resolution of what transpires.
So while we all get on and do what we do, we can observe and watch with interest as
Hell of a way to run a Country!
