Expectations are a funny thing

Everyone has their own level of what they want and what they need. This is one of the beauties of the human race and also one of the greatest frustrations.

It is the individuality that makes for a rich tapestry in our life but also ensures that there will always be conflict and frustration.

Now personally I do not really feel the need for inquiries and investigations in to issues. If there is a problem, solve it and if someone is dissatisfied, you sometimes have to just agree to disagree and move on.

And so it is with the Iraq enquiry and the much anticipated appearance by Tony Blair. So far we have spent millions of pounds on an ill conceived war and now we spend millions on trawling over the reasons and the legality.

Will anyone be prosecuted? Will it bring back our dead soldiers? Will it make the war last any less time? Will anything be achieved? The answer to all of these is no and that is my fundamental problem.

Now for sure if you are a grieving family you want to understand how politicians could do what they have done. But that is not being achieved through the enquiry. Tony Blair had previously refused to discuss the matters with families of dead soldiers. His toughest grilling was an interview with Fern Britton!

So I hope those responsible feel the full weight of their actions on their shoulders; but as for spending more money investigating what was? We need to spend the money on equipment and a solution.
