A lot is written and said about poor services of the police force Britain now has.  A casual walk around the streets would give the impression that there just are not enough Bobbies on the beat.

Well from our property management experiences I have to say that I think we still have a police force to be proud of.  In spite of decades of successive Government obsession with forms and processes there is a huge commitment and drive to keep the public safe and protect persons and property.

Only last week I was invited to a resident association meeting out in the Wild West of London.  I was there to advise them on their options and opportunities to solve their management plight and to turn around years of neglect and not being cared for.  They have seen thousands squandered for little visible benefit.  They had even had front doors to the blocks replaced with patio doors that are not up to the job.

Well on arriving at the meeting there were two members of the local constabulary who had turned up unexpectedly to advise and guide the residents on their anti social issues and what they could do to improve their circumstances.  A very pleasant surprise for the residents and appreciated by all who attended.

Of course one of the Police frustrations was managing agents who bury their head in the sand and won’t work with them to solve problems.  The powers exist; we just all need to work together.
