Thunderbirds ethos helps with property management

Broadly I think the 1960’s TV programme, Thunderbirds, highlights all human nature and reaction.  There are those who will be stuck in trouble waiting to be saved; those on the sidelines grateful that someone can step in and avert disaster; those that don their flying suits and race to the rescue; and those who want to snipe and cause problems at every stop and turn just because they can.

All this was brought to mind last week when a South London block Chainbow manage had a leak.

Being a managing agent who won’t turn away from trying to help people, Chainbow sprang into action when we got a phone call about a stain that appeared and was starting to drip.  In normal circumstances it is easy to locate where the leak is appearing from and arrange for the affected flat to contact the flat above to get it resolved.

Every now and then water has a habit of being more mysterious than Derren Brown and David Blaine rolled into one.  This was one such case.  We had plumbers in the building for two days searching and investigating and tracing the problem. It turned out to be under the floorboards of the flat above which had been missed before we were involved.

The good news is the leak was found and resolved, the bad news was the damage done in the meantime.  All will be sorted and put right and we will minimise the inconvenience for the poor owners affected.  Thank goodness the residents fall in to the waiting and grateful group!
