Recession... What recession?

Some calls out of the blue are most welcome and prove what a small world it is.

A while ago an introductory email was sent by someone we work with introducing me to a developer.  Emails were exchanged but nothing more than that.

Well last week I had a call from the developer in a bit of a panic.  He had heard nothing from the agents who were supposed to be putting together service charge budgets and setting up the management.  We arranged to meet within 24 hours and 4 days after first speaking his panics were over.

We have a new client, a new building to manage, and he can complete on the sale of his flats.

What shocked me though was the cavalier approach that anyone could think not responding or dealing was an appropriate way to handle matters.  This is even with chasing by the developer.

But unbelievably it is actually worse than that!

The same agent refused the estate agency work because they did not really have an office nearby and the flats were a bit small for them to deal with!  We are talking about 23 flats in central London on the Thames and the flats have gone for a total of £20 million!  Obviously for some the recession is dim memory and fees are easy come easy go!

But there is also the wider aspect and that is politeness in business and courtesy in handling matters and people.

Still their loss is our gain and onwards we go.
